According to Bloomberg, employees at Apple's New Jersey store have decided against forming a union.

According to a report by Bloomberg News on Saturday, employees at Apple's Short Hills, New Jersey store have voted against unionizing. The Communications Workers of America (CWA), which had lodged complaints with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) over alleged anti-union activities by Apple in various stores, attributed the defeat to the company's conduct, as per the report.

John Nagy, who serves as the operations lead at the Short Hills store and is part of the organizing committee, stated that Apple retail staff at the New Jersey location had initiated the process for union representation with the Communications Workers of America on April 8.

Meanwhile, in a separate development, workers at Apple's Towson, Maryland store voted in favor of holding a strike, as reported by a Bloomberg journalist on X, noting that the timing for the strikes was yet to be determined.

In June 2022, employees at the Maryland store had voted to join the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers union, marking the first instance of retail workers at Apple in the United States unionizing.

At the time of the Bloomberg report, neither the Communications Workers of America, Apple, nor the NLRB had responded to Reuters' request for comment. Reuters also noted its inability to reach the machinists union regarding the decision of Maryland workers to strike.
